This itinerary offers the perfect balance combining interspersed walk with visit to cultural and historical sites.
The guide explains the route, the landscapes, as well as the traditions and natural history of the area , while a local person is responsible for the tasks of the camp.

Itinerary
Day 1
Quito - Cotopaxi
Start: We leave Quito, we continue along the South Pan American Highway, in a certain way we have an excellent view of several of the volcanoes of the Andean mountain range with the perfect volcanic Cotopaxi standing out among them.
Machachi: We arrived at the town of Machachi, a short visit to the Market, the Central Park and the Church; We continue along a secondary road observing the productive life of this rich agricultural and livestock area.
Walk: After about 2 hours of leaving Quito we arrive at the starting point of the trek; we cross between fields with potato, onion, beans and dairy farms
Pita River: We reach the valley of the Pita River, we visit the pre-Columbian ruins Pucara.
North base of the Cotopaxi voclan stately: Then we approach and arrive at the camp site at the North base of the stately Cotopaxi volcano, we serve ourselves an appetizing dinner, if you like it, we taste our homebrew Chuquiragua craft beer, enjoy the pleasure to camp outdoors and rest.
Day 2
Limpiopungo Lagoon
Breakfast: In the morning, we delight in breakfast.
Trek : We begin the trek following the contour of the volcano, we hope to find some fauna of the region: Andean fox, rabbits and horses in wildlife that their ancestors belonged to some ancient hacienda in the area
Limpiopungo Lagoon: We cross the wide plain that deposits us in the Limpiopungo lagoon, several families and types of birds make their habitat here as endemic while others have long migration flights in the North and South of the continent.
Cotopaxi: Circunvalación to the lagoon, spectacular view of the reflection of the majestic Cotopaxi on its calm transparent waters.
Return: We board the vehicle and return to Quito, having had a valuable experience of contact with the Andean nature in Ecuador.
You usually walk with a light backpack that should contain: Your camera, bottle with water, snack, clothes for wind and rain and personal items, while the vehicle carries camping equipment, food and luggage for travelers.
